An Inquiry Into My Values

A Return To Innocence.

To be a good Correspondent – the quality I would hope to exercise as a Correspondent is one of Openness.

However to be “open” to the world. To search for Harmony through the Discord. To find “What is True”. To achieve these goals must one not first learn, by rote or repetition, how exactly to purge one’s ego? Or strive through progress, not perfection, to assimilate the teachings of thousands of years?

To process the feelings, sometimes overwhelming, sometimes coming at an accelerated pace, to allow the experience of pain and joy. The Correspondent must first separate the signal from the noise within himself.

What was once the “joke behind the lie” was the origin behind the name Chief Outhouse Correspondent. Now I am hoping the name will find  a more positive representation.

Through this inquiry into personal values (this is more a nod to Robert M. Pirsig’s “Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance” than a proper title to this post) this Correspondent hopes to finally learn to write. Then he hopes to celebrate what needs to be celebrated and question what needs to be questioned first with himself and then once the inquiry is complete – to a larger subject matter.
